To rent a home from De Key in the private rental sector, you do not need to register with MijnDak. These homes can be rented directly, but you will need to meet certain requirements:

  • Your net monthly income must be at least three times the rent of the house (excluding service charges).
  • You must have a steady income, either through employment or from your own business.

Immediate availability

Homes available to rent in the private rental sector are usually available immediately. Leases are valid for an initial period of at least twelve months, and will start as soon as possible after you come to view the property. It is not possible to terminate the lease prematurely.

Submitting documents

Are you eligible to rent a home in the private rental sector? Then we invite you to provide us with the following documents:

  • An employer's declaration
  • Salary slips from the previous three months
  • Bank statements showing that your salary has been paid
  • If you receive a pension or social security payments, you must provide an annual statement for the previous year
  • If you have your own business: a balance sheet and profit and loss account pertaining to the previous year, an auditor’s report and an extract from the Chamber of Commerce at which you are registered
  • Evidence of any personal capital, if applicable
  • A Candidate statement. and landlord statement
  • If you will be living with other people, we will require these documents from all the prospective tenants.

Sign your agreement online

Did your documents get approved? You will receive an email with a link where you will do the following:

  • Sign your rental agreement online.
  • Order a nameplate.
  • Allow Lieven de Key to withdraw the rent from your bank account every month by direct debit.
  • Complete your first payment using iDEAL.

The first payment consists of:

  • First lease note (rent including service costs)
  • A deposit (equal to at least one month of net rent including service costs).
  • Administration costs.

'Welcome home'

After signing your contract and successfully completing your first payment you will receive an email with an invitation to your new home. During this meeting a caretaker will welcome you in your new home and hand you your keys. He will show you the home and tell you what you need to know. You can also ask any questions you have. After that, you can get settled.
