Misuse of your home,

As a tenant, you are obliged to live in your own home yourself. You cannot leave it empty for long periods, sublet it to other people, sublet it for recreational purposes or use it for illegal practices such as growing cannabis or as a brothel.

If Lieven de Key discovers that you are subletting your apartment, using it for recreational subletting or using it illegally, the following measures may be taken:

  • Your lease may be terminated.
  • You may be required to pay a fine.
  • You may be required to hand over any revenue that you have received from subletting your apartment.
  • You may be required to pay legal costs associated with prosecution for subletting your home illegally.
  • In the event of prosecution, all costs are payable by the tenant who has been subletting the property.

Home sitting
